The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a beautiful wedding venue located in the heart of Columbus, Ohio. There are many spaces available including the Palm House, Atrium, Terrace and Bridal Garden. Each space offers something unique and perfect for a variety of weddings types.
One of my favorite spaces is the John F. Wolfe Palm House. This historic glass greenhouse is filled with exotic plants, including palm trees, ferns, and orchids, and can accommodate up to 190 guests for a seated reception. The Palm House is a great space for wedding ceremonies and receptions. A double grand staircase provides for an elegant entrance and the space has iron gazebos and a Venetian-style fountain.
Another option at the Conservatory is the Grand Atrium. It features high ceilings and an abundance of natural light and is a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony or reception. This area can accommodate up to 250 guests for a seated reception or up to 500 guests for a cocktail-style reception. The Grand Atrium includes the outdoor, rooftop Zen Terrace which features works by artist Dale Chihuly, a fountain, bamboo and a wall of Bonsai.
The Bridal Garden is a unique outdoor space at the Conservatory that is perfect for a smaller intimate wedding ceremony or cocktail hour. Surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, the Bridal Garden is one of my favorite spots for family, bridal party and wedding photos.
Just outside of the Palm House is a large Terrace. It offers a large outdoor area that is perfect for weddings, receptions and cocktail hours. It features views of the surrounding gardens, sculptures and showcases the architecture of the original botanical gardens built in 1895. There is plenty of space for your guests to mingle and enjoy the gardens and architecture.
