Ciera & James’s Franklin Park Engagement

Ciera & James's Franklin Park Engagement Session

An engagement shoot could be such a good warm-up session before you face the camera on your wedding day. Since hundreds of things might need your attention on your big day, focusing (quite literally!) on wedding photography alone on this action-packed day might give you jitters if you are not used to facing a professional camera and being under the spotlight (read camera flash and reflectors)! To avoid all of that and ensure you’re comfortable with your photographer being so close to you all the time, going for an engagement session could be a great way to test the waters. Also, it would give you some sweet time with your partner away from your guests and loads of fun-filled and romantic images of you two to celebrate your engagement and even to put up on social media, for your save-the-date cards, grace the walls of your new marital home, or just cherish the memories later. And that’s why I always encourage my couples to get an engagement session done. So, when Ciera and James decided to do theirs and chose me for their engagement photography, I was super excited! And my couple chose the iconic Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus to tell their story through some stellar images I created for them!

For their engagement shoot, Ciera and James were in such high spirits, and so was I. The two were so relaxed and at complete ease with each other that it inspired me to create some breathtaking images of them amid the verdant views of this beautiful botanical garden. The conservatory made for such a gorgeous venue for photography. The plants and blossoms added the perfect hint of romance to the engagement pictures of my couple. And the pumpkin-laden facade that I posed my couple against made the images look straight out of a fairy-tale book! The rich orange and warm yellow hues of the pumpkins made the photos a visual treat!

Another thing that I absolutely loved about this session was my couple’s fashion sense. Their well-coordinated attire in understated color tones blended so beautifully with the scenic views of the green oasis. Ciera and James’s one single cohesive look really stood out for me. I totally appreciate and admire all the efforts my couple put into planning for this session.

During the course of the shoot, Ciera and James held hands, embraced each other, and exchanged kisses to express their love and bond. Even as I focused on creating some amazing images of Ciera and James, I honestly couldn’t keep myself from admiring the beautiful chemistry these two share. From capturing photos of my couple against the iconic Palm House to photographing them besides some concrete structures at the conservatory, I enjoyed it all. I loved how my couple was a sport and used a simple umbrella as a prop. The images turned out lovely! Also, I included shots of the engagement ring as a mark of my couple’s relationship. The way these two were up for anything to bring out the best in their engagement pictures helped me create their story through my images effortlessly.

Ciera & James, you two are such sweethearts and so much fun to work with. I enjoyed every bit of your company, and I’m sure we’ll rock together at your upcoming wedding at the same venue. I’d like to add here that going in for the Franklin Park Conservatory as your engagement shoot venue was a really smart choice - because some practice photos at the same location can help calm the nerves a lot more.
