Stephen & Jamie | The Ellis Wedding

Stephen and Jamie's wedding was an absolute dream to photograph. From start to finish, they were an amazing couple and I was so excited to photograph their big day and all its special moments. They used several venues over the course of the day for their wedding. They got ready at the Canopy by Hilton Columbus Downtown and had their ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Ellis in Italian Village. 

Capturing love and romance is something I'm lucky enough to do every day, but on this particular wedding day, there was something even more magical because it started snowing! This added a wonderful touch of winter wonderland to the atmosphere and gave me an ethereal setup where I could capture their romantic couples' portraits.

Stephen And Jamie’s Wedding at the Ellis

I started the day photographing Stephen and Jamie getting ready at the luxurious Canopy by Hilton Columbus Downtown. They both looked so elegant, Jamie was a vision in her breathtakingly beautiful wedding dress complete with a pair of Louboutin’s trademark red-soled heels, while Stephen was as dashing as any James Bond ever was in his tux. Their first look on the hotel’s rooftop was nothing short of amazing. When Stephen saw Jamie for the first time, his face truly lit up with a ‘million dollar smile’! They were so romantic as they cuddled in close and gazed into each other's eyes. It started to snow while we were on the rooftop which made things even more special and added to the magical moment. 

I loved how Stephen and Jamie were so at ease and natural in front of the camera, both for their solo and couples portraits. But they really lit up when their fur baby made an appearance and joined in on the photo session. 

The couple’s wedding ceremony was held at The Ellis in Italian Village and it was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was perfect - from Jamie's glowing smile as she said “I do” to the elegantly flickering candles that set the romantic atmosphere that permeated the venue. Stephen and Jamie were radiating joy and glowing with elation and love for each other. Everyone around them left with warm hearts, inspired by the beautiful setting and two people madly in love. 

Photographing Stephen and Jamie for their couples portraits after the ceremony was wonderful. They embraced the chill and were delightful in front of my lens; it didn't even feel like work that day. The whole scene can be captured in three words: Let It Snow! 

The reception that followed was nothing short of breathtaking. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter definitely had an unforgettable day full of all the moments - from the amazing indoor sparkler stands that erupted in the background during their first dance as husband and wife, to the cake-cutting  - it was all full of love. Their wedding party certainly caught on to the fantastic energy in the room, and soon joined them on the dance floor. It was a gorgeous day from start to finish and one that Stephen and Jamie will cherish forever.
