Photography to me is so much more than just a profession or a career; it's an art and an adventure. I find immense joy in capturing moments and making cherished memories come alive. One of the best things about any wedding photography experience is exploring different venues and getting the chance to shoot at stunning places. Among all the venues I have had the privilege to photograph, there are a few select locations that hold a special place in my heart due to their remarkable elegance and unrivaled beauty. One such venue that stands out is Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farms here in Columbus, Ohio. In this blog post, I'll tell you why this venue is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings.

About Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farms

Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farms is a gorgeous Central Ohio location nestled on 100 acres of Ohio’s best farmland and fields. It is the ideal spot for a country-chic wedding with modern touches. The rural yet lush setting lends itself to unforgettable photos of the ceremony and reception - think romantic wooden barns, a stunning greenhouse, sprawling gardens filled with flowers of all colors, and a breathtaking pond surrounded by some of the oldest oak trees in the region.

There are two event locations that are offered to couples and the venue describes them as “a historic post-and-beam barn and an iron and virgin cypress Lord & Burnham greenhouse from the early twentieth century” but my favorite is Oak Grove. It is the perfect combination of modern garden meets vintage décor. Whether a couple chooses to celebrate outdoors or indoors at the reception hall, it has all the perfect elements to ensure beautiful images set against the best backdrops for their special day.

There are several reasons that make Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farms one of my favorite places to work as a wedding photographer. While Jorgensen Farms offers two locations where couples can wed (the Historic Barn and Oak Grove) and the expansive property for sure is one of the most romantic settings in Ohio, I especially love Oak Grove.

Jorgensen’s Oak Grove has both indoor and outdoor space for weddings and receptions that start with the historic Greenhouse. Nearby or adjacent, there are so many additional areas - The Cottage, The Main Hall, the Open Air Patio and Courtyard, and Grace Pond - and all of it nestled between fields, gardens, and rolling hills, creating a landscape full of beauty, color, and texture for use as picturesque backdrops. The venue location also boasts oak trees that are more than 100 years old, adding to its rustic charm and making for some dreamy wedding day photos.

Lord & Burnham greenhouse feels like something out of a vintage fairy tale, featuring large window panes that evenly bathe the interior with natural light, creating an intimate atmosphere for a wedding even at their max capacity of 250 guests. Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farms allows for an unforgettable experience for couples on their special day. Not just beautiful, but tasty! Jorgensen Farms provides Oak Grove and the Historic Barn events with certified organic culinary dishes. Everything comes directly from their farm to the guest’s tables and is of the best and freshest quality.

Because there are so many gorgeous options, and because the venue does an amazing job of taking care of each wedding, it allows me the freedom and creativity to simply create something amazing around every turn. Its inherent intimacy, stunning grounds, and thoughtful staff who go above and beyond to make each couple's big day unforgettable are a winning combination. I’ve photographed weddings there several times and each experience leaves me in awe of this amazing venue. With all the features mentioned above, it's no wonder why this is one of the coveted locations and in-demand wedding venues for couples who want a one-of-a-kind experience.
