Natalie and Frank’s Intimate Wedding at Granville Inn

Just like summer weddings have their charm, winter weddings are no exception. And a small winter wedding at a state-of-the-art venue surrounded by snow is just perfect for wedding photos - both indoor and outdoor. Natalie and Frank's December wedding at the Granville Inn was a beautiful winter wedding that checked all the above boxes for me. Built in 1924, the elegant interiors of the venue gave me plenty of background options for the couple's portraits. The Christmas trees were a great addition to the photos too!

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many couples went ahead with more intimate and smaller weddings, with only a handful of family members and guests in attendance. Natalie and Frank's Granville Inn wedding was a perfect example of how to do intimate weddings just right!

Natalie and Frank's Winter Wedding at Granville Inn

Natalie and Frank had their own vision for their wedding and the way it was to be documented. The couple wanted all the images to be shot in black and white, which was so interesting for me. I have always loved taking black and white photographs. There is something about them that makes them so timeless, and Natalie and Frank's wedding was such a classic affair that it only made sense to capture it in black and white.

I started by taking some stunning couple portraits of Natalie and Frank outside the venue. The bride looked perfect in her short white dress, and the groom looked so handsome in his turtleneck and checkered suit. Their guests, which was mainly just family, actually thought that those were the clothes they were going to get married in. But at the end, the bride and groom, who helped each other get ready, surprised everyone and changed into a wedding dress and tuxedo! I was able to get some lovely shots as they got ready too.

One of the things I will never forget is the wedding cake! I have seen plenty of creative and unique wedding cakes in my journey as a wedding photographer, and Natalie and Frank's wedding cake was definitely up there on the list. Made by the groom's sister, the Burberry-themed wedding cake perfectly complemented the elegance and theme of the wedding.
