In addition to weddings, engagements are another milestone that I absolutely love documenting. Whether couples have been dating for years or just a few months when they finally say “we are engaged!” I am ready to photograph! Every couple has their own story of how they knew that they were made for each other. Engagement sessions give me an opportunity to really get to know my couple and most importantly have some fun. I had a wonderful experience capturing Emma and Mike’s engagement at 80 East Bourbon & Cocktail Club. The lovebirds chose the perfect location to celebrate this new milestone in their relationship, and their engagement photos are proof of the exquisite and chic taste they have.
Mike And Emma’s Engagement Session At 80 East Bourbon & Cocktail Club
In my career as a photographer, I have come across so many wonderful couples and documented their engagement. Feelings of love, joy, and excitement are constants throughout any engagement session. They are seen through every sweet kiss and 1000-volt smile, and capturing this wonderful moment in time for my couples to cherish forever is such an honor. Newly engaged sweethearts Emma and Mike had their engagement session at 80 East Bourbon & Cocktail Club in Powell, Ohio and I must say these two planned their engagement session to the T. With its gray-colored walls and vintage pictures, the members-only club had a very Great Gatsby vibe going on. I loved it!
Mike and Emma clinked their glasses as they posed for some awesome engagement photos against an uber-chic bar stocked with hundreds of liquor bottles. Styled like a complete superstar for her engagement, Emma wore a beautiful white sequined dress that went perfectly with the occasion and venue. Mike looked dashing in his suit and had the widest smile on his face as he wrapped his lovely fiancé in his arms and stood by her side.
Whenever I shoot an engagement session, I make it a priority to make my couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera - after all, it's a celebration of love! During their session, Mike and Emma looked at each other with so much love and I was able to get such romantic and classy photos of the two of them near the bar. As the session continued, Emma and Mike explored different spots within the club and one of my favorite pictures of them was when Emma gave Mike a kiss on the cheek. His reaction was priceless and made for an adorable picture of what getting kissed for the first time looks like! So hilarious.
Emma and Mike were such naturals when it came to posing. Taking advantage of the various luxurious settings inside the club, the couple posed with ease, switching their positions from one backdrop to the other, and had fun as I continued to take their photos. With plenty of artificial and natural lighting inside the club, I got some amazing photos of Emma and Mike just soaking in this happy moment and beaming with so much love and happiness.
