Kristina & Joshua's German Village Wedding

Kristina & Joshua's German Village Wedding

Wedding planning isn't exactly known to be the easiest job in the world. Finalizing the guest list, looking for the perfect venue, budgeting - there's so much that goes on behind the scenes. Besides the decor and florals and all the other arrangements that make up a wedding, I love seeing my couples stand strong together after putting in all that work to make their big day special, which can sometimes get stressful. As the pandemic hit the world, I witnessed these efforts reach new heights, and in the end, love always won! I feel proud to have photographed small, intimate, and micro weddings where all that mattered was love and a sweet celebration of my couple's union. Kristina and Joshua gave me the opportunity to experience this once again when they got married in an intimate ceremony at the Frank Fetch Park in German Village, Columbus, last June.

Frank Fetch Park is situated at the heart of the German village. The venue is packed with breathtaking views, fountains, and a gorgeous pergola under which Kristina and Joshua had their ceremony. The park resembles a German Bier Garten and features a bricked patio, brick walls, lovely flower planters, and decorative gas lights. It was so much fun photographing my couple at such a picturesque location.

I took lovely portraits of my bride as she got ready and also got some amazing solo portraits of Joshua as he put on his suit. Kristina was such a graceful bride, and her bouquet was just as beautiful. Joshua, my dapper groom, was such a sport and gave me his best poses. Before the first look with the groom, Kristina did one for her parents, and that just melted my heart. When Joshua saw her for the first time, his reaction was just as adorable! And once my couple was ready, I took some lovely portraits of them together.

As wedding photographers, we never really know if everything will go according to the timeline on the wedding day and whether we will get the set time for solo or even couple portraits. However, I can't thank Kristina and Joshua enough for giving me so much time at their wedding. I guess that's another great thing about intimate weddings. Not only do the bride and groom get to spend time together and with their guests, but they also get some extra time to take wedding photos. After a sweet ceremony surrounded by the love and support of their close ones, I took aside Kristina and Joshua for more couple portraits. This time as newlyweds! The lush gardens made for gorgeous backdrops for their wedding images.

Kristina and Joshua's reception was as lovely as the ceremony and was filled with heartwarming and memorable moments. While the sun was setting, I also managed to take aside my bride and groom and took some more romantic photos of them. There was even a point where the two did a little dance together, and I am so glad I was able to capture that moment!
