I am extremely grateful for being a wedding photographer. Few people get to do and witness what we do as wedding photographers, and that’s got to count for something. I think of weddings as thousands of visual stories waiting to be unraveled, and I love doing that for my couples. Jess and Michael’s wedding at Hueston Woods Lodge and State Park in Ohio was another wedding filled with excellent details and heartwarming emotions. The couple planned a quiet outdoor wedding ceremony overlooking a lake, and the weather was just phenomenal. From the picture-perfect details to the super awesome reception - everything about Jess and Michael’s wedding was planned to perfection.

Jess and Michael tied the knot at the beautiful Hueston Woods Lodge and State Park in Ohio. The venue offers spectacular natural surroundings that create the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. And Jess and Michael’s wedding was absolutely breathtaking.
Jess and Michael chose to get married in the sweetest way - an outdoor wedding ceremony near a lake shore. They had a small, intimate gathering with close friends and family who were seated in white chairs and facing the ceremony by the waterside. And the surrounding nature added that sprinkle of enchantment to the day! Their wedding arch was decorated with sheer white sheets, which gently moved as the wind passed through, creating such a whimsical atmosphere.
As Jess walked down the aisle with her father, everybody was in awe of her transformation. She looked absolutely radiant in her wedding dress with vibrant floral prints that adorned the bottom half of it, something so different and colorful from the traditional white bridal dress. Jess styled her hair in delicate curls, which were carefully pinned with a fresh flower, and her simple bouquet matched her attire.
I was thrilled to witness Jess and Michael say I do. Michael looked handsome in his crisp suit as he said his vows, and at the end of it all, the couple shared a tender kiss to seal their marriage. As Jess and Michael walked down the aisle as husband and wife, they had the widest smiles on their faces that said it all! Everyone cheered for the newlyweds and was so happy to be there for them. I feel so privileged to have captured their bright smiling faces through my lens.
After the ceremony, I quickly whisked away Jess and Michael for some couples portraits. We scouted a few picturesque locations, and I got some amazing shots of the happy couple. I was in my element as I watched them be themselves in front of the camera with loving glances and tender embraces - it was truly lovely! Even nature seemed intent on playing its part by casting a warm glow that added an extra touch of romance to their wedding photos.
For their reception, Jess and Michael had an indoor event. There were fancy DJ lights that set the mood for the evening, and Jess and Michael were so elated to be surrounded by the people they loved so dearly. After the first dance, everyone took to the dancefloor with more energy than ever! It was so much fun to see the guests having the time of their lives at the party. Later in the evening, I captured more couples portraits of Jess and Michael outside near a bonfire.
