Brittany & Taylor’s Muirfield Village Golf Club Wedding

While some couples choose their wedding venues based on their ambiance, popularity, or their own wedding theme, others prefer a venue that they connect with personally. Brittany and Taylor hosted their wedding at the Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio. Taylor, who is a professional PGA Caddy, loved the idea of celebrating his wedding at this luxurious and family-friendly country club. Brittany was excited, too, as this was not only a great venue with the best of services but also something her partner resonated with. And for me, as a wedding photographer, the venue was simply perfect, with ample opportunities to create some amazing portraits against stunning backdrops.

Brittany and Taylor’s Dublin wedding was one of the most elegant weddings I have photographed. As usual, I began photographing my couple’s big day with the getting ready session. Brittany chose a gorgeous wedding dress and to get some solo shots of the dress, I hung it on a tree branch. With all the greenery in the background, I loved how those photos turned out!

I went on to take some of the getting ready photos of the bride and then her first look for the bridesmaids. Whether it’s the first look with the father, the groom, or the bridesmaids - that moment will always remain one of my favorite moments from a wedding! The girls were awestruck (and rightly so!) when they saw Brittany as a bride. And their natural reactions gave me the opportunity to take some great photos too.

Later, we moved out to the garden, and I took some portraits of Brittany with each of her bridesmaids and then in a group too. I also took some solo pictures of my bride with her bouquet. In my view, this is the best time to get the bouquet in the photographs. It’s so fresh, and it looks so pretty in the photos! One image that I really loved from this session was a dramatic black and white photo I took of Brittany as I shot from below with her dress naturally flowing in the shot. There’s something so dark yet beautiful about that photo.

I also took out time to photograph Taylor, who was getting ready with his groomsmen. They all looked so handsome that I just had to take solo portraits of each of the groomsmen too. Then came the group shots of all the men in black. It was such a joy to photograph the bond that these men shared with each other. And clearly, they were all very excited to be there to celebrate Taylor on his big day!

Next, we moved to the ceremony site, and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING was so well-planned. Kudos to Brittany and Taylor for thinking everything through. Matching the whole vibe of the wedding, the decor, florals, and stationary were laced with elegance. I loved how Brittany and Taylor got a sanitizer and mask station installed at the entrance. Also, there was a table that had baskets full of colored “social distancing wristbands.” The greens were for those who came for the hugs, yellows for those who were okay with bumping elbows, and the reds for those who still wanted a good 6 ft distance! I mean, if that’s not attention to detail in this post-COVID era, I don’t know what is! Their guests, including the bridal party, were also wearing masks throughout the ceremony. It was such a beautiful ceremony, and after the bride and groom shared their first kiss as husband and wife, it was time to get the party started!

Before proceeding towards the reception site, I took a few family formals and fun wedding party shots with lovely orange and red-leafed trees in the background. I also sneaked Brittany and Taylor away from the guests and shot some romantic couple portraits. The dark clouds certainly helped to add drama to some of these pictures. One of my favorite photos of the bride and groom is a bride’s-eye view I took of them with the expansive golf course in full view!

At the reception, Brittany and Taylor had the sweetest first dance under the fairy lights. From the heartwarming toasts to the father-daughter and mother-son dances, everything about the reception felt so full of love. And once the DJ switched up the music and the dance floor was opened for the guests, everyone just let loose! The guests did not fail to impress with their dance moves! Brittany and Taylor had a grand sparkler exit where their loved ones lined up to say their goodbyes. And as the newlyweds made their way out, they danced and laughed all the way!
