May Wedding at the Athenaeum
Columbus Athenaeum Wedding Photography
Lauren and Jason's late May wedding was a day full of laughing. The groom and his groomsmen suited up at the Drury Inn, while Lauren and her bridesmaids headed to the Broad Street Presbyterian Church to get dressed. Upon arriving to the church, it was clear Lauren's only mission that day was to enjoy every moment.
All of the girls could not stop laughing when we got there, so much so that it took four bridesmaids and Lauren's mother to get the small-framed bride into her dress. After Lauren finally got into her all lace gown, emotions switched as her mother placed the veil on her head. This moment was so special. Once the veil was placed on her head, Lauren's mother got to see her fun loving daughter transformed into a bride and was overwhelmed with joy. After the tears subsided, Lauren and her mom joined her bridesmaids and the flower girl for a full on dance party!
It was then time for first look with dad. This was a memorable first look because we started with Lauren's dad seeing her mom for the first time. Even after decades of marriage, Lauren's dad looked stunned by her mom's beauty. Her dad then braced himself to see his daughter for the first time on her wedding day. The three of them soaked in this intimate moment with many tears, hugs, and kisses. It was such a special moment between this tight knit threesome.
The ceremony was in the absolutely gorgeous Broad Street Presbyterian Church. Between this breathtaking backdrop and the heartfelt vows that Jason and Lauren wrote for one another, this ceremony did not leave a dry eye in the house.
Lauren and Jason said the entire day all they wanted was a dance party, and they did not disappoint! Their reception in the Ballroom at the Athenaeum was an evening full of energy. They surely offered their guests an evening to remember!
