Kaylyn & Ryan's Columbus Athletic Club Wedding

Kaylyn & Ryan's Columbus Athletic Club Wedding

Every time I set my foot out to photograph a wedding, I have a rough vision, a story, and some ideas in my mind that I try to bring out through my photos and match the style of my bride and groom. The excitement I feel while putting it all together is unmatched, and when the results turn out to be exactly like what I had thought, I am beyond delighted. I had a similar experience once again when I photographed Kaylyn and Ryan’s wedding at the Columbus Athletic Club. It was a gorgeous wedding, and I got some incredible images of my couple and their guests. The stunning wedding venue - with its breathtaking backgrounds - only helped me create lovely wedding photos. Guess what! The florals, the decor, and all the other wedding details were simply classy. And, I had a fantastic time capturing these lovely elements on my camera.

It was a beautiful day and Kaylyn and Ryan, my couple, were in high spirits. So chilled and relaxed, the two were wearing a big, bright smile on their faces. From the time they began getting ready and their first look, right up to the ceremony, and then, at the reception, I didn’t have a single dull moment at this wedding. The Columbus Athl `etic Club was gorgeous and offered aesthetically pleasing backdrops for some spectacular wedding images. The interiors were perfectly in sync with the wedding theme - and the crystal chandeliers adorned the interiors like a crowning glory and made for great statement pieces for the images. Besides taking images of the wedding details, I took solo portraits of my bride and groom before photographing them with the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Again, the images I got were lovely!

One thing that absolutely stood out for me at this wedding was the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses. They looked ravishing in black! Contrary to the traditional reservations of adorning black at weddings, I think the bunch looked super stylish and elegant in the timeless black gowns. Also, it saves the bride the headache of matching shades if she chooses a particular color for her tribe. Black is just black! Particularly for Kaylyn and Ryan’s wedding, it gelled perfectly well with the groomsmen’s attire, giving the images a lovely, cohesive look. The florals added a perfect pop of color and beauty to the photos. I also created some black and white as well as sepia tone images to add some vintage charm to my couple’s wedding album. Because, why not?

Be it the earthy concrete brick walls, the gorgeous red door, or the shelf stacked with books in blue and black covers, I enjoyed photographing my couple and their bridal party against all such unique backgrounds. The images I took of my bride against the glass facade looked so dramatic and unique. I also got some super romantic couple photos of Kaylyn and Ryan during the first look, the ceremony, and at the reception. I even stole them away from the guests for some time to create some couples portraits, and the results were fantastic!

This wedding was so much fun, and the guests were such a warm and welcoming group too. They enjoyed the day and celebrated my couple with all their hearts. The dance images are proof! Another highlight of the day was that the officiant was a friend of my couple and was a part of the wedding party. I find it absolutely adorable when loved ones go an extra mile to make the couple’s big day more memorable than it already is. Moments like these are special and cherished forever by everyone involved. One of my other favorite moments was when my couple and their guests held lightsabers in their hands at the dance floor and created a party atmosphere. My bride, Kaylyn, even became the DJ for some time and totally rocked it!
