German Village Engagement | Derek & Jennie
Capturing my couples in their most natural elements is one of the best things about my job as an engagement photographer. From the clothes they wear to the venue they choose, every element plays a critical role in creating beautiful, memorable photos. Most recently, I had an incredible opportunity to photograph Derek and Jennie's German Village engagement session. The lovely neighborhood of Columbus framed the several shots we took perfectly and provided the most amazing backdrops for their love story.
Whether it was the quaint buildings, gorgeous backdrops during sunset, or the romantic sidewalks lined with greenery, every setting provided us with a picture-perfect moment. Seeing how important this neighborhood is to Jennie and Derek was also quite heartwarming. Knowing that these photographs will be cherished forever as a milestone in their love story makes me feel honored to have been a part of their journey.
Photographing Derek & Jennie’s German Village Engagement Session
Derek and Jennie were the sweetest couple during their German Village engagement shoot. These two lovebirds have called this place home for almost a decade, so you can imagine how special it was to capture their engagement story in such a meaningful location. For their shoot, Jennie and Derek opted for a casual look with black jeans and tops. It felt like I was capturing a typical day in their love story, but it was anything but ordinary.
I can't help but feel giddy when everything just falls into place for the perfect shoot. Jennie and Derek's romantic day was nothing short of picturesque as we scouted out some of the most charming backdrops across the gorgeous neighborhood. And the lovebirds? They were absolutely glowing in every single frame! The sun was shining bright, and the clear weather was just perfection. As I captured them walking hand-in-hand, sharing loving glances on the sidewalk, or posing against the pretty backdrop of a quaint building, their chemistry was just so effortless. These two were so in sync and so in love that it made my job an absolute breeze.
When it comes to capturing the love between two people, some moments just stick with you. For me, one of those moments in this shoot was when Derek held Jennie by the waist, and they gazed into each other's eyes. It was like time stood still. And I was in complete awe, capturing it all with nature framing the shot beautifully and the sun working its magic by backlighting it with surreal golden rays! Derek and Jennie's love was so special, and I had so much fun documenting it in such a beautiful way.
I am so grateful to be shooting their wedding this year at the German Village Meeting House. I can't wait to capture all their love and energy through my lens once again and witness how they continue to grow in love!
