Elizabeth & Kyle | Revery Columbus Rooftop Wedding

As much as I love photographing the decor and details at weddings, I really look forward to taking couples portraits - especially when I have plenty of time to experiment with posing and lighting and even backdrops. And this is why photographing Elizabeth and Kyle’s Revery rooftop wedding in Columbus was such a memorable one for me. From the classic shots at their ceremony venue to the romantic portraits at Revery’s rooftop with the Columbus skyline in the backdrop - even with a packed day, Elizabeth and Kyle so graciously gave me plenty of time to whisk them away from their wedding day duties and share some quiet and romantic moments together.

Elizabeth And Kyle’s Wedding Day Story

On the morning of the wedding day, Elizabeth and Kyle got ready at the AC Marriott Columbus. Getting ready sessions are one of the many things I love about photographing weddings. There’s laughter, happy tears, excited bridesmaids, the sweet mother-daughter moments - all the good things that convert into beautiful photographs and memories. Not to forget the wedding dress! I ensured Elizabeth’s beautiful wedding gown got its share of the spotlight as it elegantly hung against a large window, basking in the natural light filtering in from the glass panes. Before she started getting ready, Elizabeth read a letter that Kyle wrote for her, and the smile on her face was enough to light up the room! On the other hand, the man of the day looked so handsome in his suit and confidently posed for me.

The couple’s ceremony at St Joseph Cathedral was wonderful. I often photograph cathedral ceremonies, and the architecture just leaves me at a loss of words. It’s so beautiful, and it’s definitely one of my favorite places to photograph my couples. Elizabeth looked so lovely as she walked down the aisle with her father, and Kyle looked as adorable as any groom does as they watch their bride walking toward them. I wasn’t going to waste a couples portrait opportunity at the cathedral, so after the ceremony was over, I held Elizabeth and Kyle back and took some photos of them as a newly married couple. Elizabeth’s dress had the most gorgeous train, and I made sure it was always visible in the photos.

Revery’s rooftop is a top-notch venue that was perfect for Elizabeth and Kyle’s reception. Before everyone arrived at the venue, I made sure I took some detail photos of the gorgeous decor chosen by the bride and groom. Even though it was cloudy and it had rained, I took my couple out for some more romantic portraits, and with the Columbus skyline and gray skies in the backdrop, I absolutely loved this bunch of photos. It’s honestly a great venue for a party! The toasts were heartwarming, and Elizabeth and Kylie laughed and danced the night away with each other and their guests. It was so good to see how these two were showered with so much love.
