Dan and Sarah's Ohio Statehouse Engagement
Engagement sessions are a fun way to not only photograph unique images of your couples but also get to know them better. And to curate a perfect engagement session, a lot of things go into play - starting from the location and the outfits down to the theme. However, more than anything, it is the couple’s energy that’s the heart and soul of it all. And Dan and Sarah's aura was such a blessing to be around, let alone photograph them together. Fun, cheerful, and casual - the couple’s engagement photo shoot had all three elements, making the images turn out to be a bundle of joy!

Dan and Sarah decided their engagement theme to be casual and wished to keep it simple yet adoring. And as their photographer, I agree, I too wanted to keep the spotlight on them as a couple. But even with a simplistic theme, the couple’s beautiful and charming personas had so much to bring to the table. Traveling all the way from Cleveland, they both decided on Ohio Statehouse to be their choice of location for the session. And I couldn’t agree more with them as the place is nothing less than pure gold for stellar frames, gorgeous backdrops, and exciting color tones. In fact, it is one of my go-to places for portrait and engagement sessions.
To maximize our opportunity to get the best lighting, we scheduled the session for the early hours of the day (during the morning visiting hour). When the crowd was less and we had the place more to ourselves. Owing to the location’s surreal staircases, picture-perfect backdrops, striking window frames, and also Dan and Sarah’s great posing skills, I pulled off some great couple portraits. Moreover, everything about this location was in sync with the mood and theme of the session.
In addition to that, Dan and Sarah couldn’t just stop being their adorable and funny selves throughout the photo shoot. They literally struggled to keep their hands off each other, and the images are proof! As their photographer, I couldn’t have asked for more naturally perfect posing cues. Their fun poses, charming expressions, and electrifying energies just made for such cutesy and endearing moments that naturally filtered into awesome portraits. It was a wonderful experience, having to frame their love for each other in photographs. And I just feel blessed to have the opportunity to be able to recreate the magic through my images at their upcoming wedding.
