As a Columbus wedding and engagement photographer, I have had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful cityscape and the magnificent architecture that this city offers. One thing I absolutely love about this city is how it offers something for everyone - lush green gardens and parks, modern and regal architecture, a fantastic skyline, and so much more. Every now and then, a location and a couple fit together so flawlessly that it feels like magic. And I had a similar experience while shooting Anna-Marie and Travis’s engagement pictures at the Columbus Scioto Mile.

I always say how engagement sessions are a great way for couples to celebrate this wonderful time in their lives. With a wedding on its way, I know it can sometimes get challenging to take out time for a photo shoot, but in the end, it’s worth it! Anna-Marie and Travis chose to remember this special time in their lives with an engagement session at the Scioto Mile, which I think is one of the greatest gems Columbus offers when it comes to photo shoot locations.
The two lovebirds, who chose a formal and a casual-chic look for their engagement session, were complete stars in front of the camera. My go-to strategy during any kind of photo shoot is to just let my clients be themselves because that’s when I can really capture their true essence, and honestly, that’s when they feel and look their best too. And as far as Anna-Marie and Travis are concerned, these two did not stop being themselves even for a moment. The photos are proof!
Since the Scioto Mile has various spots that offer amazing backdrops for photos, we took a long walk around the place. Anna-Marie wore an elegant white dress with high heels, and Travis chose a semi-formal look. We also took a stroll through one of the magnificent gardens, and while the bride and groom-to-be were busy smiling and looking at each other lovingly, I got to take some great candids of them.
After a quick change of outfits (and views), Anna-Marie and Travis posed for their engagement portraits with a scenic view of the city. With the Columbus skyscrapers in the backdrop, these photos are some of my favorites from the bunch. Anna-Marie and Travis also happily posed for some romantic (and adventurous) couples portraits on the Scioto River rail bridge. No matter what location we were in, the couple always had big beautiful smiles on their faces, and I really loved how these two went all in to ensure that not only did they have a wonderful time together but also some fantastic photos to remind them of this day.
