Stunning venues always add a special touch to wedding images. Give me a gorgeous location to photograph in, and I’m over the moon. Now, imagine my excitement levels when I got to shoot at not one but two spectacular venues for the same wedding! Amanda and Devin gave me the opportunity to take the wedding images at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Ohio Statehouse, and I must say, besides my couple’s tasteful decor choices and friendly guests, it was the venues that made the photographs so unique to me. Amanda and Devin, if you are reading this, I just want to thank you guys for the fantastic experience once again. I look forward to photographing your future milestones in equally amazing settings.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral & Ohio Statehouse Wedding Photography
As I had already shot Amanda and Devin’s engagement session, photographing their wedding was like going back to working with friends. My couple was in high spirits and relaxed, making my job a breezy affair! Besides taking their solo images, I had fun capturing their family formals, bridal party portraits, and heaps of romantic couples portraits. The scenes when my radiant bride did a first look for her dad and then, the bridesmaids, stood out for me as a photographer. Such moments are always filled with raw emotions, and I make sure I always have my camera ready to document them.
All thanks to the exquisite venues my couple had chosen for their big day, I was never short of picture-perfect backdrops to frame my photos. The awe-inspiring architecture of the cathedral gave me the chance to create some breathtaking wedding images of Amanda and Devin, both indoors and outdoors.
After taking post-ceremony photos, we moved to the Ohio Statehouse for the reception. Woah! What a beauty it was! And the decor and arrangements only added to the structure’s grandeur. The imposing stairway worked as a perfect setting to let my camera do its magic. At the reception, my couple even recreated the first kiss they shared as newlyweds from the ceremony, and it was so romantic! My bride and groom’s first dance was all about incredible chemistry. They just created magic as they danced together. One look at the couple, and you know these guys are made for each other.
The speeches at the reception were so heartwarming. Other noteworthy moments were the beautiful traditional dances and the cake-cutting ceremony. Following this trail of activities, my couple joined the guests on the dance floor to celebrate together and party in style. What a great way to welcome their new life together!
