Sarah & James's WatersEdge Event Center Wedding
Sarah & James's WatersEdge Event & Conference Center Wedding
Weddings are mainly about the union of the bride and groom, but they are also about families and loved ones gathering to support the union and celebrate the couple. The presence of family members can definitely make a wedding even more special, and I got to experience that family love while photographing Sarah and James's wedding recently. Their wedding at the WatersEdge Event & Conference Center, Columbus, was gorgeous. Everyone had so much fun with the couple's lovely family being a big part of the special day. There was so much excitement in the air, and the crazy dancing in the end certainly turned the wedding into one big party!

Sarah and James's wedding was supposed to be outdoors, but it kept raining throughout, and everyone had to move inside the venue. And therefore, I ended up shooting almost the entire wedding indoors. But even those photographs turned out great. The venue had plenty of photo ops indoors, and with some lighting and composition techniques, I was able to take some shots of my couple, their guests, and the fantastic venue seamlessly.
The dresses, decor, florals, and all the other arrangements at the wedding were perfect. They were so beautiful and looked as if they were specifically selected for the detail shots. The detail shots of the rings are also a testament to that! However, the highlight of this wedding was the family! It was so wonderful to witness and photograph the union of two beautiful families into one big happy family. Be it Sarah's son or James's boy and girls, they were all excited to be celebrating this day with their parents. I loved photographing the bond between the parents and their kids. James's girls even helped Sarah get ready. One of my favorite images is when the girls are peeking into Sarah's room as she prepares to leave for the ceremony.
Though I took the getting ready images, ceremony photos, and also almost all of the reception photos indoors, I did sneak my couple out of the reception for a while and photographed them in the rain. With an umbrella, fairy lights, and falling raindrops in the shot, I took some romantic portraits of my newly-wed couple outdoors. The images turned out looking exactly how I imagined them. As a wedding photographer, it takes time, but you eventually do learn how to work with the weather and take advantage of what's available. The day ended with everyone on the dance floor, and that was super fun! Everybody, including my bride and groom, just let loose and showed off some impressive dance moves.
