What an honor to be chosen as the commercial photographer for the Westerville Police Department advertising shoot! As a seasoned photographer for the City of Westerville for the last four years, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to capture the police department's unique spirit. This time, however, was particularly special as I was asked to cover their latest advertising shoot. The focus was to create a fresh, modern ad campaign that showcased the department's efforts in keeping the city safe. As always, it was a delight working with the officers, who went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. I had a blast brainstorming creative ideas for the shoot and was inspired by the department's unwavering commitment to their work.

Going into it, I knew I needed to execute every shot for the Westerville Police Department advertising shoot with precision and care. Armed with my photography gear, I set out to document the everyday scenes from the lives of these brave officers. Documenting their daily routine while they were at their desks, attending practice sessions or undergoing training was an eye-opening experience that left me in awe of their dedication to serving and protecting the community.
From responding to emergency calls, mediating conflicts, and providing educational sessions on various topics, the responsibilities of the Westerville Police Department are multifaceted. I was tasked with creating images that would showcase all of these vital functions. Whether photographing evidence shots or high-tech tools in use, my lens was focused on capturing every aspect of the department in action. It was an honor to capture the officers’ commitment to their duty and the gravity of their work!
Going across several departments, I photographed individual shots as well as group photos to narrate their stories through my lens. From group meetings to gun-shot training, every moment I captured was a testament to the hard work and expertise of these everyday heroes.
I was beyond thrilled to be a part of the advertising shoot for the Westerville Police Department. The facility itself is nothing short of magnificent, with modern amenities and state-of-the-art equipment. From the control room to the gym area, I was fortunate enough to capture officers in action, interacting with each other in both light-hearted and serious scenarios. It was a delight to go through each department and meet personnel, all of whom were very welcoming and helpful. Every image shot was imbued with meaning, capturing the true-to-life scenarios that unfold within the halls of this impressive institution.
Overall, it was a day filled with action, adrenaline, and respect for the incredible work that law enforcement officers do every day. It was an intense and exhilarating shoot, and I walked away with a deep appreciation of the professionalism and dedication of these officers.
