Su Lin's Senior Portraits at The Scioto Mile

Su Lin's Senior Portraits at The Scioto Mile in Columbus

Graduating high school is a big milestone! And getting senior portraits done is one of the super fun ways to mark this occasion! Even for me, as a photographer, it's an excellent opportunity to not only interact with all these young and brilliant students but get inspired by them. I love to hear all the inspiring stories they share with me, and their positive vibes make me look forward to the session. To be honest, the energy these students bring to the sessions is unmatched! I got the opportunity to experience this once again when I did the senior portraits for Su Lin at the Scioto Mile in Columbus. Being around Su and photographing her at such a gorgeous venue was genuinely a delight. We had fun and created some incredible senior portraits together.

Senior Portraits at Scioto Mile

It's no secret that the coronavirus pandemic forced several students to miss out on their share of high school fun. That's why, through my senior portrait sessions, I always try to give my young clients a memorable experience and, of course, great photos. I did the same for Su and ensured she enjoyed the session. I loved that she was equally excited and put so much effort into choosing three different looks for her senior photos.

Her first outfit, a red A-line dress, added the perfect pop of color to the images, and I loved how she teamed it up with delicate accessories. She also wore matching footwear to complement the look. For the first set of images, I photographed Su against the majestic concrete pillars in earthy tones and red-bricked walls at the Scioto Mile. Her second look was a more casual one, and we created some stunning images together, with the golden hues of the dry grass adding a warm tone to them. Soon, we moved to the railroad bridge, and the amazing architecture made for an incredible background. Su even put on a cool jacket for the images! And, of course, no one was hurt in the making of these images.

My model was so photogenic and natural in front of the camera. I loved the way she smiled and stayed upbeat throughout the session. For her last look, she wore a lovely little black dress and even tied her hair for a few pictures, which gave her a confident corporate look! I always love to see my senior portrait clients beaming with enthusiasm and all optimistic about a promising future. I love the challenge of bringing out their personalities through the photos!
