Elizabeth & Evan | Columbus Engagement Session

The city skyline, various landmarks, and even a railroad track - Elizabeth and Evan’s engagement session was also like a mini-tour of the city of Columbus. From stylish formals to matching jerseys - these two had their outfits, and the whole session planned to the T. I was so glad that they chose me as their engagement session photographer because it was truly a beautiful experience. You’d think that changing so many locations would be challenging, but in the end, it was all worth it because we were able to get so many stunning photographs around the city.

Elizabeth and Evan’s Columbus Engagement Session

Elizabeth and Evan are one of those couples you look at and just instantly know that they are made for each other. They have fun, they laugh, they hug, they kiss, and during the engagement session, they didn’t shy away from being themselves either. I always encourage my couples to be their true selves when they ask me about how they should behave during their engagement session or wedding photography. My response is always the same: Be you. Because when my couples are their authentic selves, it allows me to take images that are a true reflection of who they are as individuals and a couple.

My couple selected two looks for the engagement session, the first one was more formal and glam, while the second one leaned towards a sporty-chic vibe. And they absolutely slayed both looks. I loved their idea of wearing matching jerseys for the day. That always gives a unique twist to a couple's engagement photos. Revisiting all the spots in the city was definitely one of the highlights of this engagement session. I especially love this one photo I took of Elizabeth and Evan in the library. Even though they are surrounded by all those books, they are still the center of attention in that image. The library set-up makes for a stellar backdrop, which, as you might have guessed already, is difficult (or impossible) to create anywhere else.

Going from the city landscape to an open field was also a refreshing change and a great way to add some variety to Elizabeth and Evan’s engagement photos. And even though we changed locations so many times, one thing that remained constant was my couple’s smiles, high spirits, and love for each other. I hardly had to give them any cues for posing for their romantic couples portraits because they were naturally so good at it.
